Aloha Juniors! Tomorrow is the last day that many of us will see each other before the summer, so I hope that most of you will be able to join the festivities.
We will start by sharing websites and reflections on our service learning experiences from this past semester. I've learned so much this semester, and enjoyed the time that I got to spend with everyone outside of the classroom, and I can't wait to hear all of your different perspectives.
After our sharing session, we will enjoy a potluck - so please bring some goodies to share!
Congratulations to all graduating seniors - you did it!
For those of you who are still around for the last day, I look forward to seeing you on Wednesday for our last class day together. Please remember to bring a small snack, drink, or tableware item to help us celebrate all of our hard work this year.
Congratulations! You are now in the home stretch. Regular classes are over, and we will finish out the year with our presentations.
Students are expected to be present in class, even when they are not presenting. Observations and evaluations of peer presentations will count towards final grades.
Please use the Revolution Presentation Rubric when preparing for your presentation. You will also be expected to refer to this rubric when evaluating other students' presentations.
You will also be required to complete a self-reflection on the day of your presentation. Self-reflections and peer-evaluations will be expected by the end of each school day (3 pm) in order to receive full credit.
This is the last week to finish research and prepare for presentations. Presentations will start next week and continue through the end of school.
Monday 5/9: Turn in final paper and speech if you have not already done so; If you have turned in your paper and speech, you will use the class period to prepare notecards for your presentation.
Tuesday 5/10: Finish notecards and prepare materials for "prop day" in class tomorrow. Bring any materials to school that you will need to make props for your presentation.
Wednesday 5/11: Prepare "props" (banners, posters, buttons, t-shirts, etc.) that would be seen at a rally or convention in the revolutionary period you've been studying.
Thursday 5/12: Finish preparing props and/or notecards for your presentation. Gather any appropriate music that you would like to play for your presentation.
Research papers are due today. Please refer to the Revolution Research Paper Rubric in the files section before submitting your final paper for a grade.
Please make sure that you communicate with me in some fashion today (either to email work or update on your status) so that I can give you credit for working on your virtual day.
